In Development

As we develop new games to the prototype stage we will release information about the games here. We will also list some concept games here. These games are used largely to explore new game mechanics or themes - for fun as much as anything else. Some of them will be just PDF files with artwork and rules which you are welcome to download and paste up. Some of them will be electronic versions of games which you are free to use (not for commercial purposes of course). We welcome your feedback on these concept games.

If you have an interest in playtesting our games, please contact us.

In the old kingdom of ancient Egypt, the pharaoh Zoser, convinced of his divinity, asked his chief architect Imhotep to design a grand tomb to house him in his afterlife. This tomb was to become known as the "stepped pyramid", the first of the great pyramids of Egypt.

Each player is a builder vying to add to their wealth through this grand project. The builders secure the services of some of the kingdom's artisans to supply finished stone for the pyramid and food for their workers. They then use these tiles to build the pyramid and are rewarded for their efforts by the treasury.

But building the pyramid is not the only way to gain wealth. There is a thriving market for the stone and food required to build the pyramid. There are profits to be made by selling goods on the open market and at times, tiles purchased on the market may let you build when you would not otherwise be able to do so. By deploying influential members of your family, you can also gain advantage in various aspects of your business dealings.

Use your money and influence wisely and the completion of the pyramid will see you take your rightful place as the kingdom's most successful builder.

Toggles

Toggles is based on a puzzle I made for my daughter 12 years ago. It is a variant of vertical tic-tac-toe with toggles which redirect any stone dropped on to a toggle into one of two columns. The aim of the game is the same as vertical tic-tac-toe: to get four of your stones in a row either vertically horizontally or diagonally. However, in Toggles, each time a stone passes through a toggle, the toggle flips so that the next stone dropped on that toggle will go to the other column fed by that toggle.

You need to own a copy of zillions-of-games to play this game.
