.Sunda to Sahul offers a number of interesting puzzles and challenges. On this site we provide images of "Lost Islands" either complete islands with all of their imagery or the outlines of the islands, rather like a map. Your task is to find the set of tiles that make the lost island. A game state is presented and you are asked to solve a tactical problem. In its simplest form, the 1 player game, also called the "Archipelago Challenge", requires the player to assemble every tile of the set to form a group of islands where all of the islands are complete. For a greater challenge the player can score their islands as they would in a game with tribes and freshwater rights. To score the islands, populate them with tokens, one per land node, so that all tribes that can be are filled to their maximum of 5 tokens and the remainder form a single incomplete tribe. If there are lakes, then claim them with one token. Add the scores for all of the tokens in the usual way. You may have to use more than one kind of spirit token. If you want to make the challenge a little easier then you can permit and score incomplete islands and relax the requirement to use all of the tiles. The object of this challenge is to assemble tiles from the set to form a single complete island with no incomplete islands. The island scores one point for each land or freshwater node. The solution does not need to use all of the tiles ofthe set. The aim is to achieve the highest possible score. |
